Aether Beauty Review
Aether Beauty Rose Quartz Review
Cutting Edge in Sustainable Beauty
I have a true affinity for any brand that is working towards a sustainable future. When I decided to consider myself a conscious blogger, this was one of the optional qualifications that a brand must meet. The only absolute qualification I won't compromise on is Cruelty-Free. When Aether Beauty reached out to me and asked if I wanted to try out one of their eye shadow palettes, I was more than excited.
Aether Beauty was found and currently run, by former Sephora product developer Tilla Abbitt. Being completely enmeshed in the world of beauty, she realized that there was white space for a brand that provided quality color cosmetics and promoted her personal views on wellness. Aether was born out of a desire to lower global waste and empower the wearer to feel beautiful.
There are two pallets within her line that offer the consumer a truly revolutionary product. The packaging is made of paper and is 100% recyclable. The package itself has ridges that contribute to a very modern/geometric feel that is not typical of conscious brands. Furthermore, the shadows are removable from the material meaning you can refill the shades you go through quickly. Nothing is more frustrating than when you love a specific shade and have to buy the whole palette again just to get that one color.
The Rose Quartz Crystal Gemstone Palette consists of 12 shadows that are matte, shimmered, duo-chrome, or metallic. You have a base of coconut oil, shea butter, and rose hip oil that makes the shadows smooth and nourishing. I have to say, the feel of these shadows is part of why I love it.
The stand out shades in this Rose Quartz Palette must be the four duo-chromes. They are found in the center and truly create dimension. Divine is more bronze with a peachy reflect. Reawakening is a coral-like pink with a gold shift. Astarte is a gorgeous taupe with blue duo-chrome. Aura is a maroon that lends to a periwinkle shade.
I found the matte shades, aside from Sandstone, to be the most disappointing. While the pigmentation and color choice is amazing, I found them to apply and blend a bit patchy. Is it a deal breaker? Not really because the transitional matte shade Sandstone is quite nice.
Here are all the shades swatched the way that an everyday gal would swatch them. So on brand, I know. Personally, I love Sandstone, Rose Quartz, Crystalline, and Astarte.
I truly believe Aether is a brand worth exploring if you are looking for a quality brand with truly admirable intentions. According to Tiila, they plan to extend well beyond eye palettes. That is something worth looking forward to.
